Name: Salvador Messiah
Race: Human
Planet: Unnamed planet in the Unknown Territories
Age: 27
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 160 lbs
Rank: Padawan
Affiliation: Jedi
History: Salvador was the eldest of three children, born before his sister Esperanza, and his youngest brother Juan. Born to exceedingly religious parents, he
entered his planet's primary priesthood at the youngest age possible, even giving sermons when most of his congregation was older than he was. As he grew
older, however, his illusions with the "true faith" slowly eroded. His brother and sister never embraced the faith, and even rejected it, saying that
Force powers, denounced as "witchcraft", were not as evil as the order had made them out to be. Not accepting that answer, but not wanting to lose
his only siblings, he allowed them to go on their way, maintaining contact whenever he could.
Never feeling at ease with all the order's activities, but never feeling like it was "proper" to take action, he floated through his duties,
giving the blessings to the parishioners, preparing sermons... everything that was expected of him. One dark day, however, after the activities (secret
experiments, "vanished" villages, rooms for "private counseling" of the parish's children) had become particularly troubling, he was
visited by his superior, Father Torquemada, and informed that his brother and sister were on the verge of salvation, and that Salvador need only give their
location so that they might minister to them further. Torquemada, though firm, was never seen caught up in dark dealings, so in a fatal act of trust, he told
him where Esperanza and Juan resided.
Kissing the father's hand, as was custom, Salvador experienced a strange, dull, waking dream, becoming more sharp and dark as the hours wore on. There was
a torch, in his mind... a torch in someone's hand... lighting a flame... a pyre... beneath two people...
His siblings.
At first, he dismissed it as unjustified worry, an aftereffect of what he'd heard. Prayer was impossible, as the vision persisted, plaguing and filling his
mind. Finally, he relented, and accepted the vision's true message... he had betrayed his family, and now they were going to die a painful death. Heading
for his sister's home, he stopped at his parents' house, petitioning his father, an able swordsman, to assist him. He received only scorn, from both
parents, denouncing both their younger children as utterly lost, and him as well, if he decided to go against the church. Stunned, but wishing to waste no more
time, he made his choice and continued to his siblings' home.
Despite his attempt to save time, he arrived too late, the fire already alive and lapping at the bodies of Esperanza and Juan. Diving in, he attempted to drag
them both from the flames, but was only able to save his sister from death. Escaping their captors by a slim margin, Salvador slowly nursed his sister back to
health, despite her resistance to even looking him in the eye.
One day, a strange man entered their home, asking to see them both by name. Calling himself Waddan, he told them of the true nature of their
"witchcraft", and that they both were free to leave their fugitive life and enter the galaxy with him. Seeing no better alternative, they were taken
away from their world to a planet called Coruscant, where they both entered the Jedi Order, a place where their abilities were fully embraced, or so Salvador
thought. Seeing it as only a substitute for the oppressive religion they escaped, Esperanza (who would go on to name herself Shakti) left them to join the
Sith. Salvador, though saddened, could not follow her. He knew the Jedi were who he belonged with. He would always, however, maintain contact with her... and
never breath her location to another soul.
Strengths: Salvador's greatest strength in the Force is his aptitude for prophecy. Though his control is lacking, he has gained greater and greater ability
to see that which is to come. He is less proficient, though gaining skill, in telepathy and telekinesis. He is a practitioner of Form II lightsaber combat, and
has gained decent amounts of knowledge in lightsaber construction and repair.
Weaknesses: Salvador, despite his experience in the field, is still learning his trade, though he isn't as prone to beginner mistakes as he once was. Not
possessing any combat or slicing experience, nor using any protective items save for his saber, his usefulness in combat is still limited, despite his
willingness to learn. In addition, he has a phobia of someone experimenting on his body and a extreme aversion to shapeshifting species.
Possessions: Salvador's lightsaber is of a curved design, with a white blade and inlaid with Kashyyyk-wood. Past that, he has nothing more of consequence
save for his ship, an old JS-77B shuttle.
